The most effective productivity trick in the book is to have an accountability partner.
Staying consistent is one of the key things needed for success, but it’s super easy to get off track with your goals when you’re all on your own.
Especially during quarantine when you're stuck at home. This is where an accountability partner comes in.
The best way to be more productive, is to have NO CHOICE but to be more productive.
If your accountability partner is holding you accountable, and doing it seriously, you’ll have no choice but to remain productive and figure out how to be more productive, because now you don’t want to disappoint them.
We could share a ton of productivity tips and tricks for productivity, but those only work so much. Having an accountability partner literally forces you to be productive, because the defeat of having to tell someone who trusted you that you slacked off is worse than the pain of getting things done.
Trying to figure out how to find an accountability partner? Here’s 4 things you should look for:
1. They’re brutally honest- Don’t have a yes man or a yes woman as your accountability partner. You need someone to kick you in the behind to become a productivity master, and not take no for an answer!
2. They’re great at questioning you and listening to you. You want an accountability partner who challenges you and your old beliefs and mindsets and doesn’t just agree with everything. You need them to really understand you and listen to you.
3. Their strengths and weaknesses compliment yours. You don’t want your accountability partner to just be a copy-paste of you, because then you won’t really benefit from them nearly as much as you could. Make sure your accountability partner’s strengths compliment your weaknesses. This way you’ll get the best bang for your buck.
4. They’re in a different niche or industry. Make sure you’re not in direct competition with your accountability partner, as this could lead to some conflict and conflicting interests.
So there you have it. Knowing how to get things done and be more productive is all about disciplining yourself, and the best way to do that is to have an accountability partner.
