Episode 31 - “Closing the Confidence Gap for Women” with Resonate Country Director, Norette Turimuci (#ThisIsMyEra the Podcast)

Article by Josh Park

“We women will tend to question ourselves more than men ever would whether it’s in the boardroom or in the community.”
Global gender inequality is a systemic issue where women and girls often lack the necessary resources, training, and access to positions that can lead to social and economic advancement. Consequently, numerous programs have been developed to train women and youth to become entrepreneurs and leaders where they are empowered to make a difference in their communities.
But while these programs provide the technical training and business acumen that provide them the knowledge for social advancement, many women are still inhibited by a lack of self-confidence that prevents them from wielding the newfound knowledge to its maximum potential. This is an issue that is pervasive throughout the world, whether it’s in advanced societies and corporate boardrooms or at a grassroot level within communities.
That’s where Resonate comes in.
In this inspiring episode, Alexander Star chats with Resonate’s Country Director Norette Turimuci about the problems of gender inequality around the world and specifically in East Africa and how Resonate is working to address the current situation.
Resonate is a social organization that provides powerful leadership and confidence workshops that help train women to change their mindsets and to see themselves as leaders. With this transformation, these women and girls can then turn opportunities into actions and empower themselves to truly make a difference in their communities.
The organization provides 3 main programs including storytelling for leadership, professional development, and action leadership, which Norette discusses more in-depth in this episode.
